Uses | It is used in gasoline additives and hydraulic fluids. Phosphorus(V) oxychloride is widely used as a dehydrating agent and a chlorinating agent. It is used in making semiconductors, gasoline additives, plasticizers, hydraulic fluids, and organophosphorus compounds such as pesticides. It is also employed in manufacture of trialkyl phosphate esters and triarylphosphate esters, including commercially popular tricresyl phosphate, which is useful as a plasticizer, flame retardant, etc. |
