Uses | Disodium EDTA is a chelating agent, used to sequester and decrease the reactivity of metal ions that may be present in a product. This white, water-soluble solid is widely used to bind to metal ions like iron and calcium ions and prevent the deterioration of cosmetics and personal care products. Disodium edentate is also used therapeutically as an anticoagulant as it will chelate calcium and prevent the coagulation of blood in vitro. It is used in cosmetics to increase effectiveness and improve stability of bar and solid soaps, bath preparations, creams, oils, hair care and many other personal care formulations. |
